As a kid I remember getting my hands on an empty oatmeal box.  You know, one of those big round ones with the funny guy on the label.  Turning it over and over in my hands I wondered what kind of fun thing I could make from it.  Funny, I don’t remember the end result but I do remember the creative spark that box lit in my soul.  I still carry that spark around with me, always looking for the creative possibility in life and ready to light the bonfire whenever the mood strikes.

I’m a self-taught artist who did not acknowlege my creative and artistic self until much later in life. It took many years for me to realize my true worth as a person and an artist. Today I balance my past and present through a hindsight being 20/20 approach and live my days full, working in the studio to get what is inside out, to share my experience and creativity, to make a difference in my own way, and to be an example that you don’t have to let the past determine your future.

Artist’s Statement

Working with Mixed Media I jokingly think of myself as a multiple personality.  If I had to use the same materials and the same techniques with every piece of art I create, then I feel I might as well be making sandwiches at the local fast food place.

I like the adventure of making large pieces, small pieces, painted, collaged ~ whatever.

The one consistent theme I see in my work is whimsy, hope, love, and the positive side to life. Through the images I create I hope to lift those purchasing and viewing my art to a higher ground where all things are possible and things negative can be left in the dust, on the trail, as we venture towards an artful new world !
